Counseling and trauma treatment must be considered for the victims of typhoon Ondoy (international name: Ketsana) particularly in Metro Manila. Such extreme weather event in a highly urbanized metropolis like Metro Manila will negatively affect the normal mental condition of the urban dwellers. Fear and trauma should be assessed properly to avoid permanent mental disorders among the victims. I believe that their fears are more than enough for them decide to abandon their homes and find a safer place to live in. Please help the victims of typhoon Ondoy in every little ways we can to keep them back on their feet. Showing them our care and sympathy and showing WE are here ready to help them with all that we can, is a positive affirmation that there is hope after a great tragedy.
