Raging planet

Our planet is rapidly experiencing change; and that inevitable circumstance, is making as repay Mother Nature.

This is not a time for skepticism, and rethinking the way we deal with our planet is very important. The only solution is to act. Yea, we should act now before it’s too late. Mother Nature’s fury is an irresistible force that is beyond our estimation. We’ve seen her done it in the past, now, and probably even worst in the future. There’s no way out and it don’t matter who and where you are when she rage for revenge. Let’s act, that’s the only way. No matter how small your move is to reduce the damage we humans do to our ailing planet, it counts more than not doing anything at all.

Topical storms or typhoons cannot be avoided. But the magnitudes of the natural disasters that are ravaging our planet are unprecedented nowadays. Clearly, there must be something very wrong on how we treat our planet, our home.

I felt so sad about what happened in Metro Manila and some other places in the Philippines because of typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), which caused flood in Biblical proportion (deluge). The damage and loss is beyond comprehension. The terror is unimaginable; you can see it in the people’s eyes. The cities and towns are drowned in deep waters. Cars stacked-up together. Two or three story houses are flooded up to the roofs. There’s mud all-over after the water had subsided. Almost everything are rendered useless. What can be  more terrifying?

Yet, there is more terrifying than that... The fact that the climate change and global warming are getting their toll; the fact that Mother Nature is not taking the way we deal with her for granted, and that she is seriously taking her revenge - is more terrifying than anything else. Why? Because we don’t know what to expect what will happen yet, that is why!

Now, think. Think about what will happen tomorrow. Things to you don’t expect to happen could just happen in the blink of an eye. Remember Katrina. Polar caps are thinning. In the late eighties and the nineties, we were told that the Ozone is thinning. Now, what will we expect to happen? We are on a situation that disasters are not only waiting but are bound to happen.

Let’s not be hypocrites and skeptics about climate change and global warming because that won’t help in any manner. Thinking of something to contribute to reduce the damage we are doing to our planet is a must and an obligatory human responsibility.

Yes, we can rebuild from one storm to another, but lives lost will never be returned. Our inaction and excuses might cost our own lives.

Please help reduce climate change and global warming. It’s the only way to reduce Mother Nature’s rage.
