Every time we eat pork we order the killing of a helpless swine. I believe that this is completely correct. So sad to think that to put meat on our table, a gory scenario needs to happen. The way pigs are butchered is one of the most barbaric things a modern man could ever do.
The way pigs are slaughtered is much brutal than any other way of killing animals (similar with cattle). Some manage to do it by strangulating the pig by tying it up on four legs or having two strong men holding it while someone stabs the pig straight to the heart with a long knife. After the heart is hit, the butcher twists the knife to let blood flow freely from the deep wound. The long knife stays on until blood is almost completely drained watching the pig die helplessly. I’ve heard and seen once in TV that pigs in slaughter houses are shot in the head with live ammos. These are just some of the many brutal ways of slaughtering pigs. Do you think that is a good way of having good food on the table?
It is a reality that millions if not billions of people eat pork. But how many of this people knew how the meat they put on their table are processed? Just imagine what is required to happen before you’ll have a hamburger. Let’s not forget the bacon and ham that most households prefer for breakfast. Just imagine all of that. Anyway, I’m not a pig to have this much compassion for them. But I guess there’s not an ethical way for man to be able to have pork. There’s no way to have pork without killing pigs.
I don't really agree with strangeling the pig but I guess shot to the head is the quickest way.
ReplyDeleteHow would you prefer them to be killed?
Reminds me of some of the PETA videos I've seen. I love to eat meat, but geez, it is a pretty gruesome process.
ReplyDeleteE M Y,
ReplyDeleteI believe that there's no other decent way to deal with pigs but to stop eating them. About nine months ago I read an article titled Top 10 Reasons Not to Eat Pigs and I want to share it with you http://www.goveg.com/f-top10pigs.asp
