Saving our planet by “resisting technology”

The polar caps are shrinking and this for sure will have a significant effect to our ecosystem. Unless we do something to stop such detrimental occurrence, we are close to the extinction of the human race. Otherwise we should start evolving into somewhat helium or nitrogen breathing beings. Undeniably, such shrinkage resulted from depleting the Ozone layer. Such depletion of the Ozone layer is but just natural because the sun is eternally passing through it and host of activities of the planet that happens every day. Such is acceptable if the depletion happens in a natural way because the nature itself can still have the time to replace what is lost. What makes nature not being able to replace what is lost is man-made pollution that is actually damaging our ecosystem in a massive scale.

We might have proved that mankind is an intelligent life form. But what is intelligent about irresponsible existence. The more we focus on progress, the more we tend to destroy our planet.

Technology has made our lives a lot easier, but now it seems that technology tends to shorten the reign of human race in this little corner in the Milky Way. Mankind’s progression in all aspect is somehow leading to exhaustion of natural resources and essential elements that host a living organism or being.

So what can we do now in order to avoid such detrimental effects of man’s own existence itself? I believe that one of the ways is to “resist technology”. Why? Because “resisting technology” makes sense more than progressing it to avoid further damage. Progression means studies, tests and applications. To resist simply means simply not doing anything or slowing down. Whether or not the progression is designed to save our planet, the footprints is more damaging than not.

I believe that it’s not too late for us to help our ailing planet. It’s just a matter of slowing down a bit to avoid further damage. I hope you agree with me and start doing something about it. Sharing what you think could our planet is believe one of the noblest thing to do. I hope you help me strengthen this statement with your supporting comments. Or, you may just drop your opinions or views - for us to see what you think about the state of our planet, our home.

  2. I agree, the intelligence of mankind will be its downfall. Whether it is the depletion of resources, changing climate or even warfare.

I think (and hope) that people are starting to wake up. Obama has invested billions into green energy technologies. Would you agree that we should "resist" green technologies as well?

  3. There's no reason for us to resist technology if is really green. If the green campaign by anyone could somehow be more catastrophic than not doing it, then, it’s much better it’s not done in the first place. If the green technology that any government is trying to push will really benefit the eco-system and is not focused on making profits then we are on the right track.

  4. Well of course somebody is going to profit from innovating and implementing green technology-its the nature of capitalism, but agreed, the focus should not be driven by profit alone.
