What went wrong with the U.S.??

Desperation is all over the United States right now. What we see on TV is quite disturbing. It's so unusual to see people of the "most powerful" nation in the planet line-up with desperation on the streets for jobs.

This only mean one thing for me. The US has no perfect policies after all. It seems that this superpower is not immune to financial depression or crisis. Hey, we looked at this country with high regards for a couple of centuries already. But what happened to this super power? There are lots of questions I wanted to ask. What lies in the future with the United States? Is there a chance that it'll be divided again? Will communist countries emerge as the next superpowers? Is this the United State's wage for being in war anywhere in the world? Is the US government just blasting and burning money doing that? Can a good military defensive and offensive of a country feed his own people? Is there really a price for a country after winning a war? Have we really stepped forward?

Hey, the situation we are into is not a joke. The United States of America is not a nation of a single race. People who lives in it came from all over the world. Remember the old adage "American Dream"? If those people who used to do good in the US all went home to their respective countries because of unemployment and financial difficulties surviving in the supposed land of milk and honey - what will they do in their native lands? Just imagine the immeasurable effect of the U.S. economic downturn.

My BIGGEST question is... WHAT WENT WRONG?

  1. to many people and companies living on borrowed money.
If you can't afford to purchase with cash, you can't afford what you are trying to buy.
as for houses, don't even think about it unless you have at least 30% to put down.

  3. Greed, corruption, over-sized egos...American patriotism really. As a political science student in the US, I am not surprised at all.
